Be alert!
School class visits to S27 projects
Staying alert with all your senses is key to activities involving participation and showing initiative: S27’S educational concept focuses on strengths and stimulates attentiveness. Children, teenagers and young adults alike take part in experimental artistic projects that help to sharpen their perception and encourage them to ask questions about their surrounding environment.
On their journey of discovery through various themed environments they are exposed to sensory experiences and creative and knowledge resources that they would seldom have access to on an average day at school. We stimulate their drive to get involved and show initiative. We want them to be curious, show their skills, be brave, join in, focus and implement their own ideas – even if they face resistance or there are hurdles to overcome.
Our school courses give pupils the chance to visit our projects and get involved for a whole week. During this time regular class is replaced by creating visions together. They will work with artists and designers on subjects like the future of the world, life below the earth’s surface or asking the very simple question: What do we want to learn?
Schools we currently work with include: Oberstufenzentrum Handel 1 (Kreuzberg), Oberstufenzentrum Marcel Breuer (Weißensee), Heinrich-Zille-Grundschule (Kreuzberg), Jens-Nydahl-Grundschule (Kreuzberg), Johanna-Eck Sekundarschule (Tempelhof-Schöneberg) and Theodor-Fontane-Oberschule (Letschin).
In collaboration with our project partner Schloß Trebnitz – Bildungs- und Begegnungszentrum e.V. (‚Trebnitz Castle Education and Exchange Centre‘) we also run a school course once a year that invites a Berlin school and a Brandenburg school to work on a project together. All types of schools are welcome.
A primary school group from the Heinrich-Zille-Grundschule recently joined us on a trip where we discovered and then analysed ‚Planet Zille‘ and together we made a movie trilogy about it!
